The reef gardens around Culebra's cays are the healthiest water we work in. Coral heads rise off white sand, reef fish move through them in loose schools, and the visibility is often good enough that you can read the bottom from the surface before you ever put your face in. Several of the cays we visit are turtle nesting beaches, so sea turtles turn up in the surrounding water often — wild animals on their own schedule, but this is their neighborhood and we snorkel it almost daily.

We leave from Fajardo, about an hour from San Juan by road, and one note on the price: the $160 price covers everything on board — there is no extra cost for gear, flotation, lunch or drinks. Bring a towel and sunscreen; we handle the rest.
