How much beach time do we get?

You get more than two hours anchored off the Icacos sandbar, on top of the guided reef snorkel. It is the most beach-heavy trip we run, which is why families love it. Swim, float on the mat, or nap in the shade of the cabin while the crew handles lunch.

What is the lunch like?

Lunch is a full deli buffet served on board, with rum punch, piña coladas and soft drinks included in the price. Vegetarian and vegan options are available for an additional charge with advance notice, so request them when you book. There is no extra cost for food or drinks on the boat.

How much does the Icacos morning tour cost?

The tour costs $130 per person, all-inclusive. That covers the guided snorkel in the Icacos Nature Reserve, mask, snorkel, fins and flotation device, the deli buffet lunch, rum punch, piña coladas and soft drinks, plus free parking at Villa Marina. There is no extra cost once you are on board.

Do I need snorkeling experience?

No, you do not need any snorkeling experience. The reef snorkel is fully guided, flotation devices are included, and the water inside the Icacos Nature Reserve is calm and clear, especially in the morning. First-timers do great here, and the crew fits your gear before the boat leaves the marina.

Can kids come on the morning tour?

Yes, all ages are welcome on this trip. The long beach stop off the sandbar, the floating mat, the shaded cabin and the restroom on board make it an easy day for families with children. Flotation devices are included, and the snorkel portion is fully guided.

Where does the tour leave from?

The tour leaves from the Villa Marina Shopping Center in Fajardo, on Puerto Rico's east coast, about an hour's drive from San Juan. Free parking is available inside the marina. Check in with the crew there, get fitted for your gear, and the boat heads straight out to the reserve.

How long is the boat ride to Icacos?

It is a short ride across the Fajardo sound — Cayo Icacos sits just offshore from the marina, so you spend your time snorkeling and on the beach rather than in transit. The five-hour day covers the crossing, the guided reef snorkel and more than two hours of beach time.

What should I bring?

Bring a swimsuit (wear it there), a towel and reef-safe sunscreen. A hat, sunglasses, a dry change of clothes and a waterproof camera round out the list. Everything else — snorkel gear, flotation, the buffet lunch and drinks — is provided, and parking at the marina is free.
